Trojan Highlight

The Trojan Spirit means that you love MDCC for what it is. It’s still a tight knit core group of people who care about the students and educating them to further their goals in life

What degree did you receive and what was your major?

Business Administration

What is your current occupation?

Vice President - David Smith Construction, Inc.

Why did you choose to attend MDCC?

Scholarship availability and the chance to play football in college. The location was also close to home and I had good friends that went there. It felt very home-like to me.

Who was your favorite teacher during your time at MDCC and why?

Dr. Alan Snowden, he was very entertaining and also very smart at what he did. He was able to articulate his course material, and that made it easy for everyone to understand. He was the only teacher who was truly tough on me when I needed it.

What is your best memory from your time at MDCC?

Playing football and hanging out with friends in front of Horton. The dorms were fun, even though they needed some major renovations at the time. I also really got to know and love Coach Bill Ashley and spend time with him.

For you personally, what encapsulates the term "Trojan Spirit"?

To me, Trojan Spirit can come from the feeling of small town Delta life where you know everyone and it’s a tight knit community that works together to accomplish goals. The Trojan Spirit means that you love MDCC for what it is. It’s still a tight knit core group of people who care about the students and educating them to further their goals in life.
